Small sprays of white flowers are produced in summer which are immensely popular with bees and butterflies. Furthermore, this plant also produces small red fruits which prove to be a favourite with local birds. Prunus lusitanica Angustifolia can easily be grown in all soil types and situations, this is including dry shade. We do advise that if you intend to grow your plant in dry shade that you keep the plant well watered and fed until established. The berries and leaves can be harmful if eaten so must be avoided.
