Description
Quercus Ilex Readybag Hedge: Being particularly useful for coastal planting, this hedge refers a well-drained soil and is a fast growing plant, meaning it should form a very dense hedge very quickly, something you may need to be aware of when it comes to trimming. The new growth comes out usually in May to June and is covered with tawny-beige or white indumentum (small hair) that will soon wear off. If you decide to leave this untrimmed, it should form a tree, a very large one more than likely. But this hedge can take on and exhibit a variation in shapes, textures and sizes. Although it is useful for coastal planting, this is also suitable for almost all areas and soil types, apart from the coldest inland areas and this hedge is tolerant of shade and the hedge does actually prefer a well-drained soil . However, if this is grown in the shade, the leaves may be more green than grey-green, which some people may actually prefer.
